Role Summary:
This role leads the Product team and owns the data-and-commerce side of marketing: understanding how customers move through the app, and making sure promotions are planned around what’s actually in stock — not run blind. You’ll sit at the intersection of marketing, product analytics, and inventory, using AI tools as a core part of how you work — to build forecasts, spot patterns in the data faster, and turn raw numbers into decisions about what to promote, when, and to whom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Product team — a senior team member (remote, already covers part of this scope) and a junior team member — bringing on-the-ground structure and consistent leadership to work that currently runs without a dedicated manager
- Own in-app/e-commerce analytics — conversion funnel, drop-off points, user behavior, and reporting dashboards
- Use AI tools to accelerate analysis — automating recurring reporting, building demand/promo-uplift forecasts, and surfacing patterns in customer and inventory data that would be slow to find manually
- Plan and manage the promotions calendar, working directly with inventory/operations to align offers with stock levels — pushing slow-moving stock, avoiding promoting items that are low or out of stock
- Analyze promotion performance (redemption, margin impact, uplift) and turn it into recommendations for future campaigns
- Partner with the Creative & Production Manager to brief in-app banners, offer creative, and promotional assets
- Run basic A/B tests on in-app placements, offers, and messaging to improve conversion
- Provide the Head of Marketing and GM with a clear, ongoing view of what’s driving (or blocking) conversion and revenue
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience working with in-app or e-commerce analytics tools (e.g. GA4, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar)
- Demonstrated advanced, hands-on use of AI tools for analysis and forecasting — e.g. using AI/LLM tools to build models, automate reporting, or analyze large datasets faster than manual methods allow (able to speak to specific examples, not just familiarity)
- Some real people-management experience, or a clear, credible plan for how they’d earn the trust of a senior team member on day one — this isn’t a role for a first-time manager without a thoughtful approach to it
- Real coaching ability for the junior team member on this team — this is a distinct skill from earning credibility with the senior remote team member, and both matter: one is about earning trust upward, the other is about patiently closing a real skill gap downward
- Comfortable working with data directly — spreadsheets at minimum, SQL a strong plus
- Experience planning or analyzing promotions/discount campaigns, ideally with some exposure to inventory or merchandising constraints
- Strong commercial instincts — connects data to revenue and margin outcomes, not just vanity metrics
- Able to work cross-functionally with both marketing / creative and operations / inventory teams
Nice To Have:
- Experience in retail, grocery, or delivery apps specifically
- Familiarity with inventory management or POS systems
- Basic SQL or BI tool experience (Looker, Power BI, etc.)
- Experience using AI to build forecasting models or automate parts of a reporting/analytics workflow (e.g. Python + AI copilots, custom GPT/Claude workflows, AI features within BI tools)
What We Offer
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- Hands-on mentorship from internationally experienced chefs
- Real growth potential as the operation scales — strong performers move up
- A genuinely unique opportunity to be part of building something new in Fiji
